Dreams

Dream March 25

I had a very detailed story-like dream as an early side effect of Gabapentin.

I am in a well known computer store and decide to buy a cheap PC on display. When I get to the cashier, he tells me to choose a wrapping paper. The wrappings are all so childish so I end up choosing a dull pattern that doesn’t make a statement. In the meantime they are remotely downloading all my apps and data from my home PC. After that they bring the new PC to another computer store to make 4 backups. Strangely enough the purchase includes a small white dog which looks like part poodle. The dog is super excited and affectionate and when we go outside, it races around at tremendous speed. The cashier called it Hughie.  While I was in the store I bumped into an old colleague – Joel Newman – who was looking for a cheap gift bag. When I showed him where the were they were all gone.

Next I am at home and the doggie is jumping all over the furniture. Then I am with Brian and the doggie in the car.  I am sure he’s going to tell me I should have gone for a more expensive product. The one I got has a portrait shaped monitor and might be difficult to read. But first we go to a vet who recommended that we go to a place called Cat World and get  insurance on the dog. The place is owned by a slim middle aged efficient woman with glasses and short grey hair and it is packed with clients. She tells us it will be at least 40 minutes until she can see us. While we are waiting a couple are demonstrating how to train your dog – we are fascinated by their movements and try to copy them. Eventually she sees us and asks us what the dog breed is. We tell her that the computer store said it was a Berkshire Terrier. She said there was no way they would just give away such an expensive breed and referred us to her brother’s vet around the corner. He was quite weird and suggested it was called a Pompoodle. By now it’s getting very late and Brian is falling asleep. We worry that we don’t have dog food, bed, etc. So more driving around to find the right places, confusing us because they are not obvious. All this time we have an excited doggie with us. No ending because I woke up!
